Back in late 60’s black were 13% of population yet they were 32% of deployed to Vietnam- partriots..

Is what they were!!! We served this country well!!! Why should our dedication for it to be ours as much as anyone else’s ever be questioned? We might disagree on how to get there but if a group that fought for this country and their children don’t feel comfortable in the “house” they built whether enslaved or enlisted- then it is only right to take notice. I know as a lowcountry native son- the infrastructure and culture my people built. I am proud of who I am and where I am but I have every right to be uncomfortable about names and buildings on STATE owned institutions that my people help build and defend- right?

But yep- n-word in a uniform. We’re told that uniform didn’t change a thing!! Wow. And they still flew the flag on 4th of July and memorial and Veterans Day and put up their medals on the wall and participated in Veterans Day stuff and paid taxes and voted and sent their kids to clemson. The black community honored our veterans and their service fully!! So it is not anti patriotic to feel uncomfortable about the country they endured so much to be a part of. Both of my grandads served in WW2.

Both men could have and should have served just like the men that the OP brought up but they didn’t. They weaseled their way out of it because they had money. If you weren’t brainwashed with partisan bias you would call them both out but you won’t do it because you’ve reached a place politically where you can barely think for yourself. Clinton got the same education deferments that many people did (like Biden). Trump defrauded the United States with a fake medical diagnosis that his father bribed a doctor for.

This is America, not the old USSR. Clinton didn’t want to go to war, Biden didn’t want to go to war, Bush didn’t want to go to war, and Trump didn’t want to go to war. I would have used education like Clinton and Biden or tried to join the national guard like Bush to stay out of a pointless war like vietnam. I wouldn’t do it with fraud like Trump.

They fought to make and keep american great and to make it “greater” than it was when they returned from war and it is better but it is never an again like going back. Remember there would be no “red hats” if they didn’t as enslaved or enlisted make this country great. They have, we have paid our dues and for a good bit of our history without pay!!! Why can’t we and they feel unsafe or unappreciated or even bothered an offended in the very country they help make great? And will make greater!!

This % has not changed in over 55 years because of ONE THING: Abortion! That is far BEYOND a National Disgrace! I never hear so called “Leaders of the Black Community” like the “ Reverend” Al Sharpton or “Reverend” Jesse Jackson denounce this Atrocity! In your opinion, why is that?

But we are overwhelmed with keeping the living population fed, housed and clothed and walking in dignity. The same people that are against abortion are also often against the affordable care act so that mothers who want to keep their babies can have prenatal and postnatal health care. Also the same group often opposes sex education which sometimes includes education on birth control in the public sectors. For many pro-lifers there is only one way in and out. Psalm 139 is for the unborn and gives dignity and proves dignity for the living. But most pro-lifers are pro-wombers not pro-lifers. So pastors like me in multiethnic churches are working for both. I even wrote a chapter in a book about the problems with abortion in the black community. Yeah, yeah- I know the liberal politicians want to fund abortion in the same affordable care act. In this case the church- yes the church has to do a whole lot more work. Believe it or not abortions were DOWN under Obama.

If you have 13 cats and 87 dogs in a population, the population is 13% cats.
If the number of cats doubles every 6 months and the number of dogs doubles every six months, you will have a lot more cats and dogs at the end of a few years.
The resulting population will still be 13% cats.

Collectively we need changes. I’d like to hear what changes are needed within the black community.
BTW: more white people died since and including WW2 fighting for the freedom of blacks In the USA than slaves were brought to this country during the Atlantic slave trade.
