Is the Littlejohn atmosphere dead because we

Feb 1, 2017, 8:58 PM

have this game in hand, are not having a great season, the new configuration? I have seen Littlejohn a few times this year and it seems we never have crowd noise. In the past, even in non-great seasons the place would be rocking at times. I just don't even get a good feel of where the crowd is, except that front row right in camera view that looks like it could be a reunion of my class of 1985.

What's the deal. Is this the new normal?

They're tired of losing in basketball.

Was there b/t 1998-2003. And those years suckt under Shyatt but students before me and during my tenure were generally more rowdy and devoted. Kids now are more concerned with cell phones and more nerdy since we've increased admission standards. It's not an altogether horrible thing that there are smarter kids at school (makes my degree look better) but they don't really care to support basketball unless they're great like our football team. They're spoiled. Ps I really hate that the student section isn't under the goal anymore. I understand the liability of it but it was awesome when we had it!

I'm afraid it may be the new norm

I went to the unc w game and granted, I think the students were still on winter break, but the new LJ was not loud at all. And there were a LOT of people at that game. I'm afraid the new arena might be designed poorly to generate sound. I really hope I'm wrong but sure seems like they made it "quieter".

Just not the same. I agree about that first row in camera

view. Why don't they give the student shakers and teach them some cheers ala Duke style and please not that "I Believe" crap. Sounds like a Mountain West school. Just too many fans and students with their arms folded.

take away the cell phones and they'll be more engaged***

The inconsistency of the play of the team. I'm not weighing on should "he stay or should he go?" Those same students are rabid and raucous in DV so ask yourself why? The only answer is obvious. Go Tigers, nice win!

The team needs to have better results for a longer period..

of time. People don't believe in CBB or the basketball program being successful.
