As far as this why doesn’t Dabo just bench DJ…

I’m wondering if there have been conversations between DJ and his family and Dabo stating that if he loses the starting job he may consider the transfer portal after the season. I know for a fact his father is HEAVILY involved in his career and wasn’t the easiest person for coaches to deal with during the recruiting process.

Two thoughts, He doesn't have to bench him for the rest of a game, a whole game or the season. Just one series might do the trick. But after that , then if the young man wants to transfer, let him see which team in this neck of the woods would want him after seeing the results so far. Maybe his Dad would convince him to return to the West Coast where we would probably never play him in a game. Either way right now your season hinges on a good win ,or two in the remaining 7 games ,of which I can se Clemson clearly losing 3 of them ,on the road against Pittsburg and Louisville and at home verus Wake. But hey let's not put all of the blame on D.J. Maybe we need to bench the O.C.

ramifications. It makes ZERO sense to sit a better player on the bench in order to keep another player (who is not as good as the guy on the bench) from transferring.
I think the truth is that DJ is the best overall QB in the stable right now. As much as I'd like to see TP given a chance - the coaches see these guys in practice every day and apparently they believe that DJ gives us the best chance to win. No conspiracy, no fear of a player entering the transfer portal - we just don't have an all world QB on the roster right now and are going with the best that we have which is DJ.
If Cade Klubnik gets here in the spring and lives up to the billing - he might just give DJ a run for his money (i.e. like Trevor did to KB). But getting a true freshman QB that can unseat even a struggling, experienced upperclassmen is still somewhat rare - especially in the early part of the season.

On the play of DJ. The coaches have confidence in him to lead the team. I don’t!
With his play and the rash of injuries I can see the Tigers losing at least two more games.
It’s not our year.

If DJU can't succeed in the ACC he darn sure well won't be able to hack it in tougher leagues.
I think the fact that he was practicing at midnight in the Valley after the game going into a bye week and the next 2 games on the road may indicate that he's been put on notice that his starting job may be in danger.
What it boils down is if DJU as peaked in his mental abilities to process a live action game then it's time to give TP a change to run a few series.
Dabo can give DJU a chance to save face by say he as an injury in his throwing hand and we be available as an emergency back up.

I’m wondering if you know how to correctly punctuate your post title. In its current form it’s hard to read and understand.

Seriously doubt this "conversation" happened. I wonder about some of ya'll and your wonderings. I guarantee DJ did not extort Dabo. I'm sure Dabo has seen enough alpha dogs come through and be 2nd to transfer that he would realize this is a possibility. What some of you don't realize is that DJU is by far our best qb. No one else comes close. DJU is our franchise qb. If somehow we missed on recruiting, which I don't think so, that is on our coaches. If we aren't developing him or if he got shellshocked by throwing an int to Georgia that a reception there may be the difference in the game, then that is partially on DJ but also on our coaches.

the Offense early in the season? I'm not 100% sure. That injury is not like an ACL or MCL. Now we are mid season. Maybe we will see him a little more.
