do you know if the smaller impoundment on the north is connected? ( would it be good fishing , I have a kayak so the no motor zone sounds good)

what is the best bait shop close?

any tips for catfish?

Good fishing. It's a power plant cooling lake so doesn't get as cold, good fishing in the winter especially. But look up "The Old Fisherman" on YT, he does a lot of fishing there and he catches every species.

do you have a depth finder on your kayak? Try to catch some white perch and drift over humps if you do. Be careful, as it can get choppy. Not a huge body of water but the wind can kick up very easily

believe it or not, unscented Ivory Soap soap is great for catching catfish. it slowly dissolves in the water and leaves a scent trail, being that it is made from animal fats, catfish love it, and it stays on the hook.

Ex father n law fished a Lake Monticello somewhere around Chester I thought. May not be where you are talking but yea that’s what they went for is to fish for cat. Always seemed to do well and the lake was never crowded.
