After studying TL16 vs DW4 (is he still alive), I would take

Deshaun in the biggest game.

Oh yea, I will never forget Trevor's 44-16 win over Bama or his incredible & electrifying 68 yd TD run vs OHst when we were on the mat..or his win over ND in ACCG.

but DW4 seems the overall better & more versatile QB imho in a street fight which happened vs Bama twice..vs Coots with his bad knee..and bowl games vs OK & orhers.

Why my post & change of heart?

Besides having Covid now years after everyone else got over it and are out playing.. TL16 just throws too many picks (5 in one game recently but won) and today a pick in a NFL tag football match!

Ask me next week; I may be well, be more logical as well as visiting at Surf Side Beach SC doing some shag dancing or collecting Chinese ballon samples.

LOL~

Deshaun was supposed to be rusty. Everyone knows Deshaun is twice the QB as Brissett. Deshaun will be really good again next season.

and in some ways the stats go for either one depending..

but last poster stated what I was saying..DW4 took command in those Bama games while TL16 might not have.

Yes, Trevor's 44-16 win over Bama was a piece of cake once our veteran Ranger D dominated & finally our Oline came to play & protected TL16.

But, Trevor faltered badly vs LSU and again next year vs OHst in semis, thus my choice of DW4 in a dog fight.

Bottom line is both earned a Natty while DW4 had a glimpse of a 2nd one in his 1st Bama game (lost 40-45 due to special teams).

not like Watson would have won that game either...Our Defense got blown out in BOTH the games you cited...The Special Teams didn't give up 45 points and they didn't let a TE put up 188 receiving yards either

Let’s give credit to perhaps the greatest College offense ever in LSU. Our fault was not to keep running Etienne when we had it down 28-25 in 3rd qtr, especially with Trevor having a bad night.

If you remove the character issue completely...

It is Deshaun.

Trevor simply could not do what Deshaun did his last two years here. It's really that simple. Deshaun's load was so heavy and he didn't have ETN in the backfield. In the big games, he elevated to the next level. It's hard to fully appreciate now because time has gone by, but what he did to Alabama in two consecutive title games was insane. In the second game, we were down 14-0 and Alabama's defensive players were going out of their way to take head shots on our players, including Deshaun. The rest of the game is history.

Even noted Clemson hater Jonathan Allen (Alabama D-lineman) admitted Deshaun was the most mentally tough player and "by far" the best player he ever played against in college.

Believe me, I love Trevor for what he did at Clemson and for being such a high-character young man. But Deshaun was better.

You put Trevor in against Alabama those two games, we would not have won either. You put Deshaun in against LSU, I really think we would have had a chance. For me, the LSU game is a big minus on Trevor's great legacy at Clemson.

Again, I'm not considering the character issue. If I did, the answer would change.

break...Our D was blown the #### out, it wasn't on the QB who was playing with a torn labrum...Who put us on his back in the Semis when we couldn't get open downfield and couldn't pass protect worth a ####...The only person who stepped up at all to help him was Travis and our coaches handcuffed him in the Finals...We gave up 42 to LSU and they knelt on the goal line and OSU put up 49 the next year...Our Defense is why Trevor didn't win more titles

Watson didn't play on the defense.

LSU outclassed everyone in the nation top to bottom. They would have been a handful for us when Trevor had that power ranger defensive line.

DW4 was not playing with an empty cupboard his last two years of college. Wayne Gallman was an above average back. Hunter Renfrow was golden on the slot, Mike Williams was a 1st Rd pick, Lazy Leggit was a good TE, and Artavis Scott was another dependable player that stuck on the league a few years. DW4 had the better rosters his last two years.

TL16 may have had the best roster his Freshman year (Renfrow, ETN, Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross and a good OL). But each year was progressively downhill from there (especially on the OL) yet he dominated the regular season his Soph and Jr years to the point we were putting in reserves regularly Midway through the 3rd quarter.

Don't get me wrong, if I need a clutch drive, DW4 would be my pick hands down and his performances against Bama were awesome to watch. TL16 also had a pretty dadgum good performance as a FRESHMAN against Bama.

I'd probably lean toward DW4 too in the debate but claiming Watson was leading a team of scrubs is just not accurate.

He had 15 fewer interceptions which is a huge stat especially over just 3 years for both.
