Perfect Tiger Team --

Apr 22, 2021, 9:28 PM

I am over 100 posts so can now post on football.

Perfect Tiger Team --- is not going to happen.
That is good as after being "perfect" we could only fade down. We are headed UP!

2020 was a mess for all teams, but Tigers over came and did great things. Dabo gets less credit than deserved as to the flu thing. We did not win a Natty, but it was one of our best teams "ever" given all they had to deal with. How many teams make it to the CFP? The 2020 team did. They earned it. This was a great team! Any who say less are not real Tiger fans.

In my opinion - (keep in mind I am just a fan who is one beer over the line) -- we lacked receivers we have had in the past. I am not saying TL had no one to pass to, but he did not have the receivers of past years. Our receivers stepped up to championship level, but it was not on the level that DW or TL had in past years when we were WRU.

Great teams stopped ETN. That was possible as they had less fear of the pass. ETN had to adjust. Gallman (a hero of mine) could just do his thing.
The "O' line gets trashed, but they were OK. They were asked to do more than they could. They were one of the best ever at Clemson. I am proud of them.

No need to feel sorry for TL, but think of him with guys like Watkins or Williams. If Nuke had been here, OHS would have gone down.
2020 was a GREAT team.

2021 is to say the least -- exciting !!

Actually...

I think you're one LSD over the line. We were not very good in 2020 compared to Clemson standards. Our last two championship games - 2019 team/LSU and 2020 team/OSU - we got exposed and thrashed by far better teams who had better players, and who were more prepared than our Tigers. I pray and hope 2021 shows us a better team than took the field for those two games. If not, we may not even make the playoffs.
