This "uneven" revenue model is a joke. It won't work and

here is why: BIG XII tried it and it didn't keep OU and Texas in the conference---and it won't keep FSU and Clemson in the ACC. In the long run, the revenue discrepancies vis-a-vis the SEC, BIG XII and Big10 are going to keep growing regardless. The schools that feel they are getting the short end of the stick will inevitably sue. I just don't see how the conference can survive much longer. Also, what is the shelf life of the conference affiliation offers that Clemson and FSU have? Two years? Three? I can't imagine that Neff would actually play "chicken" with the tobacco road mafia to see who blinks first and negotiate our way into an acceptable agreement while putting these offers at risk. We have to leave or we may not have a landing spot. That would be catastrophic.

The ONLY way to keep the ACC afloat is Fox will have to make an aggressive move into the Southeast and push ESPN away from the ACC. The deal we have with ESPN is so bad, I see no scenario where the conference can survive long term, let alone medium term.

Screw Calford.

I agree, it was never intended to work.

It is a legal/political move to show people, "We tried. We made a good faith effort to stay in the conference. We explored every possible path to remain in the conference. But none of them worked. We have no choice but to leave."

Even "if" they come to some sort of verbal agreement, I can GUARANTEE you it will be litigated by the schools that have no landing spot (Pitt, BC, Syracuse, Wake, Duke).

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

Well, I really don't know why that the schools that are to receive a lower amount would go along with it. That is unless they know that there is somehow an out on the GOR for Clemson/ F$U.
If the GOR is really solid until 2036, why would Wake/ Cuse agree to less $ right now?

A little more money in the short term is not a bad thing...

while everyone contemplates and assesses next steps.

It's a process that involves A LOT of moving parts, so it's not going to get fully resolved quickly.

The consequences and implications are enormous, so Clemson (and its allies) have to be very calculating, analytical, deliberate, and methodical.

That our media deal is better than the new Big-12 one. Why would an ACC team think that moving to the Big-12 is a good idea? There are no strong brands left in the Big-12.

That is with Texas and OU. Doesn't it go down to 31 in the new contract without them?

Also, aside from the Big 12 being substantially better than the ACC as far as monetary distribution goes, look at the brands of the Big 12 & the ACC & tell me what brands in the ACC (aside from Clemson, FSU, Miami, UNC) are bigger than the Big 12 brands.

I grew up in Oklahoma, I can tell you that Oklahoma State, KSU, KU, TTU & Baylor all have pretty large & loyal followings. Go watch an Iowa State or Kansas State game, their stadiums are packed. Then go look at the majority of the ACC & notice that the ACC just doesn’t have many loyal football fanbases like that.

The Big 12 comes up yet again too before the ACC expires.

I remember when TCU played at DV. Seems like they brought a ton more fans than any ACC school not named FSU.

If I were Clemson (or any other school that would be getting

enhanced revenue from the unequal revenue sharing), I would not sign ANYTHING that would bind me to the ACC, or make me pay any kind of penalty for leaving, above and beyond the ridiculous ones already in place.
