This is going to be general, b/c I'm not going to put a lot out there right now, so just two things...
1. The buyout is not as big of a deal as some want to make it out to be.
2. Dodds has been trying to play hardball by pushing ND. Other Big XII AD's put their foot down, and he's backed off that. He will support both Clemson and FSU right now. (even before WVU and TCU officially join).
(you may have seen this reported today... but it's a pretty big deal)

Dodds has a long time relationship with Swarbrick (he was Dodds/UT's pick to be commissioner over Beebe, OU won that deal...again another stake in the heart of the myth that Texas runs the conference). Dodds believes that with UT and ND in the same conference, the contract will balloon to nearly 30 million.
Swarbrick, from what I read, is on board, but the problem is the ND alumni are adamantly against joining a conference unless there is just no other options.
