1 Major Problem I see on D.

Sep 16, 2012, 8:37 AM

I can't tell you how many times I have seen a linebacker or defensive end in pursuit, take the "easy route". Rather than fighting across the face of the lineman, they just run behind them, effectively taking themselves out of the play. Similar thing happens when our linebackers go out in coverage. They get picked by a tight end or crossing receiver and run behind them, taking themselves way out of position. This needs to be fixed or we will get torched.

Also, Brewer may be the worst defensive back in the country. Good gracious it's hard to watch when he is on an island.

DB and linebackers looked bad. Out of position and kind of lost. We will get smoked next week if they have the same performance

Major problem of the defense...they're pu$$ies

Sep 16, 2012, 8:45 AM

They're scared of contact, they're scared to hit anyone. Biggest bunch of soft, scared pu$$ies I ever saw out there. Jeff Davis has to be embarrassed by the LB play.

How can it be fixed in a week.

Sep 16, 2012, 8:56 AM

I'm not trying to start anything but how can the problems be fixed in a week. I don't see a lack of effort and everybody has seen the problems since last year. the coaches surely have been addressinbg this since spring ball and except for tackling, the problems you mention are still there after game three. i really don't know what can be done in a week and i fear real trouble next week. i really feel for the players but my gut says it could really get ugly.

The problem I pointed out (except for Brewer), is not a hard fix. Watch film, point out the repeated mistakes, then go and drill their a$$ to death on it. Plenty of drills to correct this pretty simple yet costly mistake.

Stop the thud tackling in practice, soft during the week & soft on game day!

Tony Steward should be starting as well.
