I’m glad we passed on that Manning kid. I don’t know if he would’ve had the patience to sit behind Klubnik and Vizzina in order learn the position well enough to get any meaningful PT here. Sure, he may have had a chance to start by his senior year, but I’m sure we would’ve lost him to the portal by then. Dabo had to know this. I’m sure the offer was a nice gesture to the kid and his family but it was clearly complimentary and not commitable. Go Tigers ??

I think our current QB commit gave him fits when they up head to head at Camp in Clemson in ‘21!
Loved to have landed him as a Tiger but he knew we had the better talent for college with Klubnik and Vizzina(DJ too but he’ll be a pro by then)

but I don't believe any of them played with Dabo at Alabama so I assume that's why we decided to pass on him.

Seriously? First, why would anyone think he would be behind Vizzina? Second, we never had a chance to get Arch but Dabo and every Tiger fan would have been dancing in the street if we had.

Vizzina and Klubnik have both proven themselves on the field versus top competition and then against the best of the best at Elite 11 camps, etc.
Manning meanwhile, has great name recognition.
Time will tell if he is indeed an extension of the Manning QB legacy or not.

Very true. He might turn out to be Kyle Petty or Chad Kelly. Or he might turn out to be Peyton or Archie all over again. Time will tell. We’ll move along with our guys and do just fine.
