At this point, TE needs to take any offer he gets. He has flirted with man over the last 3-4 years and it is getting old. The offense is unimaginative, and this waiting every off season on him to leave can't be good for recruiting. I like TE alot, but either take a dump or get off the pot. This is almost like holding CLEMSON hostage, and it is starting to be felt all along the program. Just my .02 cents!

I know TE has interviewed in the past but I don't recall a major deal being made about waiting to see if he stays or goes before this one. I don't see any evidence of it impacting recruiting as even this season we haven't lost any offensive recruits to this point at least.

I think he goes to Duke if they actually give him the freedom and budget he wants. If not staying at Clemson. Dude turned down Tennessee. He can easily wait for something else.

Turning down Tennessee was smart IMO. On paper it seems like a much bigger job than UVA or Duke, and it would be except Tennessee has Bama expectations which is largely the reason they're currently on their 6th coach in the past 12 years. A couple of 7-5 seasons and he'd already be on the hot seat.

UVA still using their football facilities from the 80s/90s. It's a trash dump over there. Elliott was excited til he saw that crap in person.

(Vince Lombardi + Dabo Swinney) couldn't succeed at Duke

I think Tony knows that (Vince Lombardi + Dabo Swinney) CO-Coaches couldn't be successful at Duke. He's gotta go somewhere where he has a chance of being successful, and he knows it.

One good year at dook and he's off to

bigger and better things. Spurrier had good years. Cutcliffe had good years. Some others did. The problem is sustaining at dook, you can have a good year or 2

His overall record at Duke was 20-13-1 and his conference record was just 11-9-1.

My concern is that he tends to hesitate.

It’s evident in the way he calls plays, and it’s evident in the way he decides on head coaching positions.
On one hand, careful thought and consideration is a good thing. I’m glad he isn’t impulsive. He is very analytical, which is generally good.
But sometimes you just have to go for it. I perceive that he struggles with that.

I hope he stays. Dude is a recruiting machine in Georgia and Florida. He has a great eye for running backs. Etienne, Shipley, Pace. He's recruited 23 guys 4 stars and above. To compare Cincinnati as an entire team has only recruited 6 of those in 12 years.
