HOOPS....Next year......expectations?

Are we even decent next year in Hoops.? Losing Simms is devastating. Who will be our inside presence.? I like PJ Hall. Too bad he hardly played(correct me if I’m wrong., one of CBB’s most coveted recruits...hardly sees the court). We just lost to a pedestrian Rutgers Team.....anyone see otherwise.? I know we beat Bama...maybe Purdue...I get it. CBB’s only hope is the transfer portal....because....he is less than adequate on attracting top notch players to Clemson. Which is my biggest concern/complaint. That’s been a fact for a decade. I miss Cliff Ellis., Rick Barnes and O.P.—- We finally can hit FT’s and don’t force contact to get to the line.,, or. Put them on the line.?? C’mon!!! Go Tigers!!! R.R.

Hall has a long way to go to be ready for good inside players. We have inconsistent shooters and no go to guys. hemenway is a great shooter but he can't drive and a quick defender limits his looks at the basket. We can't count on the ACC to be this weak again

If we can get a really good wing scorer transfer I think we will be pretty good maybe better than this season. Need Hall and Kidd to develop a lot next season. Also got to get who Is more of starting PG and go with him more. Honor is too streaky but can be a good role player getting a fee minutes. Dawes should be the guy.
I think it's a big year for Brad. It's another NCAAT or bust his program is up....

You forgetting about the Canadian kid at 6 8 he looked aggressive on offense and very physical Maybe he did not play good enough defense to get many minutes as you know it’d defense first ??

much from him next year. Given our history of player development, don't look for any sudden jumps in production.

A ship without a rudder. Dearth of leadership post Simms.

Lack of size at the point and athleticism at the 2. The freshmen were a bit of a disappointment. Hall doesn't play up to his size. We're not a confident team. If we're not hitting threes, the other team is rebounding and off an running.
Brad and Drad were expecting big things this year. In short, I don't expect us to be as good as this year without our best player by far in Simms. There is nobody that you can point to as the obvious leader(s) of next year's team.
After 11 years, we just aren't going to see a dramatic change for the better in the program. Baby steps forward and backwards. Feels like we have plateaued.

Bit of a defensive liability but he should be good for 10

pts per game. He will be a senior. He's gone form 1.5pts to 5.5pts to 7.5pts per game in his three years of college basketball. Probably not going to see a big jump in those numbers.

No expectations. We will have another mediocre basketball team. If Duke and UNC come back next year as expected, we will finish around 10th in the ACC and will be eliminated in the first round of the ACC tournament. Same ol same ol.........

Since we did not beat either of the teams you mentioned and finished 5th not sure why you think their improving would impact where we finish next year

Because they lost to other teams they would normally beat. This year was our best bet to make a run in the tournament.

Not even Duke is expecting Duke to be back next year. I don't know what the Cheaters expect for next year.

I will be glad to give expectations if you can confirm who is jumping to the portal, who we claim out of the portal and which players take advantage of the free year. Otherwise you are a passive aggressive bozo who hates Clemson

Relax...! I obviously know Bama is in the SEC. Of course...I have no clue who is /or isn’t in the transfer portal(right now). Or is that passive/aggressive.? There was nothing wrong with my original post.,you may not have liked it(for some reason). I Have an opinion. Try it. Appears...you’re looking to harass people- pick a fight. Please don’t question my loyalty to Clemson. That’s unacceptable. Have a good evening. And Go TIGERS!

I'm fine with this season.
Whether the coach should have a job or not depends on how he does next season.
I don't expect miracles.
I do expect a competent basketball team that doesn't fall off a cliff after this "peak" year.
If the team can play decent basketball and be in the discussion for an NCAA berth, that would be fine.
This team had a high floor and low ceiling.
Other teams were handicapped by lack of practice time together and because of our team's experience, we won some games early against more talented teams.
As the season went on, the more talented teams improved and we basically didn't.
Is anyone surprised we lost to a team where we played decently for a half, couldn't score and got down by 10, and then came back somewhat to make it close at the end?
That's what a team with limited talent like ours does.
We don't have a single player this season who can make their own shot.
Trapp played a great game and he has shown flashes of brilliance in his career, but he was a senior and never really became a reliable player and Amir is great but he isn't a star player, just a nice complement.
Every time we've been successful we've had one or two NBA quality players on the roster plus a few other players that went on to long careers in Europe.
The talent we have on the team now is a maybe a couple of players who will be in the NDBL for a few years or possibly hang around Europe.
I'm hoping that the freshman and sophomores will improve. If they don't, next season will be al long one.
Also curious to see how many players transfer out in our annual exodus of players that were highly rated out of high school but never contribute.
