The 6-6 220-pound, 3-star tight end from Navarre, Florida committed to Clemson Saturday during his junior day visit, the second commitment for Clemson in the 2013 recruiting class.
Leggett said that he felt like a superstar during the junior day activities.
“It was a long day, but it was really fun,” Leggett told TigerNet Saturday evening. “I was like a super star up there. I got a lot of special treatment.I basically met all of the coaches- Coach [Dabo] Swinney, Coach [Chad] Morris, Coach [Jeff] Scott, and Coach [Danny] Pearman.”
Leggett said he was also told by Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris that he would be used like Allen, who set a Clemson record for catches by a tight end this past season. Leggett said it should be an easy transition for someone whose high school runs a similar offense.
“I like Coach Morris’ offense a lot. It’s almost exactly what I do in high school,” Leggett said. “I play a lot of tight end and slot receiver. I just like thinking about being on the line of scrimmage. The coaches want to use me like Dwayne Allen. They want to put me at slot receiver, at tight end, on the line of scrimmage. They want to use me in a lot of different ways.”
After seeing the campus and facilities, Leggett decided to commit during a meeting with Swinney. Little did he know that he would be committing to almost all of the offensive coaching staff.
“I just saw the locker room and study hall. I toured the campus and the facilities,” Leggett said. “I got to try on the jersey that I will get to wear when I get up there. When I sat down with Coach Dabo, I told him that I was all in. Coach Morris and Coach Scott came in when I was talking to him. We all sat down and Coach Swinney said he was happy for me. He told the entire coaching staff that I committed.”
When asked about his biggest strengths as a player, his ability to stiff arm defenders was the first thing that came mind.
“I just like to work hard and compete,” Leggett said. “I am very tall and can jump higher than most people. I also have a long wingspan if I have to stiff arm somebody to get away.”
Leggett even said he made a connection with a player that might be throwing him passes in a few years – 2014 quarterback commit DeShaun Watson DeShaun Watson

“I talked to Deshaun a lot,” he said. “We are really excited that we are going to play together.”
