Spartanburg Methodist College sophomore catcher Tyler Lancaster has committed to Clemson according to sources.

The 6'4 195lb. left-handed power hitter formerly from Dutch Fork High School missed last season with a tear in his meniscus (knee).

During his freshman season, he batted .302 with three home runs, 16 RBIs and a .425 OBP while throwing out 22% of base stealers.

This commitment will give Lee the flexibility to put Lancaster at first base while providing Williams a chance to catch. Lancaster will have the opportunity to play both catcher and first base at Clemson.

A source close to the commitment said, "He could be a top 10 round type."
