Sammy Watkins discusses rehab on his foot injury

by - Assoc. Editor -

Former Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins had a small broken bone in his foot and consequentially had surgery in April to have a screw inserted.

Watkins wants to take his time and make sure his injury is healed 100% by the start of the regular season.

"For training camp, I think I'll definitely be available," Watkins told TSN on Friday in Toronto.

"I might sit out two or three days. It's all about how I feel within those days. The goal is to come back and be prepared for training camp."

"Basically we are just taking it slow," Watkins said, "doing the little things now as far as cutting and moving around; the basics. There's really no timetable. It's really when I feel healthy, when I am healthy. The important part is getting on the field and staying healthy. So, basically my whole summer will be staying in Buffalo getting better."

He had 44 receptions for 827 yards and nine touchdowns last season. For his career, he has 125 catches for 2,029 yards and fifteen scores
