ACC and ESPN closing in on network deal

ACC and ESPN closing in on network deal

by - Senior Writer -

The 2016 ACC Football Kickoff starts with ACC Commissioner John Swofford's press conference at 10 a.m. Thursday morning, and the news that the conference is closing in on network deal with ESPN could be the headline.

The ACC’s current deal with ESPN runs through 2026-27, but trails the SEC and Big Ten in payouts.

Swofford told the media in May at the annual ACC meetings that the league would likely need to add a network in order to close the financial gap with other conferences.
