CLEMSON – Offensive coordinator candidate Chad Morris is in the Clemson area.

Morris expects to be on the Clemson campus by 1 p.m., he confirmed by text message to TigerNet a short time ago.

“Eating lunch in Anderson and will be in Clemson shortly. Excited about the job! On my way,” was part of his text message.

However, Morris is still linked to the vacant head coach position at Tulsa, and Morris wouldn’t elaborate on reports that he is a leading candidate for the position.

Other reported candidates include Arkansas offensive coordinator Garrick McGee, Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jay Norvell, Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Billy Young and Tulsa associate head coach Bill Blankenship.

Clemson Athletic Director Terry Don Phillips confirmed to the Charleston Post & Courier late Wednesday that Morris has been offered a multi-year contract by Clemson, worth $450,000 per year.

Clemson has scheduled a news conference for 2 p.m. on Thursday to introduce Morris and new defensive coach Marion Hobby.
