Overton - the 6-5, 195-pound receiver out of Greensboro (NC) Page - participated in last weekend's Nike's The Opening Regional in Charlotte, showing flashes of speed, an ability to the attack the ball and make the tough catch.

TigerNet caught up with 2016 prospect prior to the event and he said that he talks to someone on the Clemson staff nearly every day.

"I hear from or I call the Clemson coaches almost every other day," Overton told TigerNet last weekend at Mallard Creek High School. "They tell me how bad they need me and what position I could play. They expect me to play the '9-man' if I commit there. They showed me that they're dedicated to me and I'm the only over-sign they'll allow."

Their message? Come be Clemson's next great 9-man or boundary receiver on the short side of the field.

"That's my position right there. The 9-man is what I expect to play in college," Overton said. "That's what I expect to do. It fits my game. The 9-man has to be able to go up and get the ball, and I believe that's a great aspect of my game - being able to go up and get the ball, find the ball and beat my man in one-on-one situations."

Overton also likes everything he's seen on his visits to Clemson, including how the staff treats his family.

"Every single time I've been down there, they showed me a lot of love," he said. "They love my family and my mom, especially. They send me a lot of cards. It's a great feeling whenever I go down there. I relate to everyone. I feel safe when I'm there. I never get homesick when I'm down there."

It appears to be a two-way battle between Clemson and Tennessee for Overton's services, but the 4-star prospect said he's in no rush to make a decision.

"I'm just going to take my time with the process. I'm going to visit as many schools as possible," he said. "I visited Clemson two times and stayed the night with Mike Williams. It was a great experience. I'm setting up something soon to come to Clemson. I think me and Cornell PowellCornell Powell

However, Overton knows exactly what he's looking for in his dream school.

"I'm looking for a school that is dedicated to me and dedicated to my family," he said. "I want to feel at home. I've got to get to know my wide receiver coach because they will play a big role in college, because that's who I will interact with day to day to help me get better and reach my full potential."
