Brings to Clemson: Phillips’ film shows a sure tackler who can deliver a big hit - and also swoop in for the pass breakup. Phillips first announced a Clemson offer in June and committed in August after offers reported from Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida State and Southern Cal among more Power 5 interest.

Depth chart fit: Phillips joins a 2019 class heavy on safety with fellow Peach State 4-star Joseph Charleston and 3-star prospects Ray Thornton and Lannden Zanders. It’s also position where the entire depth chart could return in starters K’Von Wallace and Tanner Muse, as well as Denzel Johnson and Nolan Turner.
