Cooksey has early offers from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Iowa, North Carolina, Northwestern, North Carolina State, Tennessee, UAB, and UCF. His first offer was from Boston College.

His father played at Georgia Tech and he grew up going to the games. Cooksey plans to decide on his college before his senior season.
