Former Clemson DE has successful surgery

by - Assoc. Editor -

Miami Dolphins defensive end Andre Branch was not his explosive self in 2017 as he missed some time with a nagging knee injury.

Branch announced on Wednesday that he was having surgery to get ready for the 2018 season.

"Successful surgery, appreciate everyone for the support and well wishes," Branch posted this morning. "I’ll be back better than ever."

Before last season, the 28-year old signed a 3-year, $24 million deal. During the season, Branch had 4.5 sacks and 23 tackles. Look for Branch to have a bounce-back year in 2018.

For his six seasons in the NFL, the former Tiger has 163 tackles, 24 sacks, and seven forced fumbles.

He was drafted out of Clemson by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round (#38th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft and was signed to a four-year $5.1 million dollar contract.
