Clemson defender Jeremiah Trotter Jr. earns back-to-back AP All-America honors

2023 Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. earned Associated Press second-team All-America honors for a second consecutive season.

It is the seventh different outlet to name the Butkus Award finalist an All-American for this season. He got the first-team nod for Sports Illustrated and the Action Network.

He is credited with a team-high 88 tackles, a team-best 15.0 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two interceptions (including one he returned 28 yards for a touchdown) in 676 snaps over 12 games (all starts).

Trotter's 85.7 PFF grade tied for the team lead among starters, as a standout against the run (80.7 grade), in the pass rush (80.5) and in coverage (80.1).

Trotter declared for the NFL draft earlier this month to end his collegiate career. PFF has Trotter as the third-rated draft-eligible linebacker (one spot behind teammate Barrett Carter, who announced he will come back for his senior season).
