He is a consensus 4-star recruit from Elberton, Georgia. He is the seventh 2013 recruit from the state of Georgia.

As as junior, he had 1,561 yards and 21 touchdowns on 212 carries. As a sophomore, he had over 1000 yards rushing. As a freshman, he was one of the leading tacklers on the team as as LB.

He was named an honorable mention all-Region 8-AAA selection. He attended Mark Richt Camp at UGA in July 2011. He attended the Clemson-North Carolina game in 2011. His first college offer was Clemson.
