Definitely didn't see them going QB with the top 10 pick.

Kind of puzzling too because Kirk has a 4 year deal. Guess they are banking on Penix to sit a year and maybe compete in year two.

Kirk’s deal is really 2 year deal cuz costs nothin to ditch him after 2.

Falcons believe that Penix is a franchise quarterback, and you could go X more years before you have an opportunity to draft another franchise quarterback.

I like the pick. Dude can throw ropes like nobody else.

draft pick is a great move by the Falcons, because it is insurance against "Bad Kirk" showing up as often, if ever.

I like Penix. What’s stupid and Falcon like is signing a QB for 4 years (an average QB) and then immediately drafting one in the first round.

days, just because Kirk Cousins is signed for four years, does NOT mean he will be around Atlanta for four years. Just ask Russell Wilson.

Oh I agree. The only thing that makes sense is Cousins was backup in case they didn’t get a QB they liked in the draft.

Both QB's are injury prone, the Falcons may think that they will need two QB's each season and don't have to worry about serious Penix money until year four.

Kirk will be gone after one or two years. Definitely not gonna be a falcon in year three.
