Clemson has one of the best defensive ends in the country in Gaines Adams. Adams is listed as high as the #3 senior prospect in college football by Mel Kiper. The coaching staff is hoping Adams gives them some recognition for developing defensive ends since Adams played 8-man football in high school.

One player Clemson has made a priority is D.J. Stafford of LaGrange, Georgia. The Tigers will not be short on competition for Stafford.

"I have offers from Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, Arkansas, Auburn, and Kentucky. South Carolina offered me last week."

Clemson has first year tight ends coach Billy Napier on Stafford. Napier should give Clemson a strong presence in LaGrange in the future, but two LaGrange are on top for Stafford.

"Auburn and Georgia are my top two schools right now. I will take all five official visits before making a decision. Georgia and Auburn will be two of the five, but I will have to pick three more.

Auburn has really came on as a national power the last two years. A lot people thought they would fall off after they lost Ronnie and Cadillac, but they were one of the top ten teams in the country last season. Georgia won the SEC this year, and they are on the verge of winning a National Championship."

Auburn has been a longtime pioneer of the LaGrange area. Clemson will look to land an official visit from Stafford, and they hope to get in the game from there.
