Height: 6-2 Weight: 180 Hometown: Lexington, SC (Lexington HS) Class: 2012
Shaq Roland is a 6-1, 180 pound elite prospect from Lexington, South Carolina.
Roland is an exceptional athlete who had over 1,000 combined receiving and rushing yards, with 30 touchdowns, as a junior. He lined up all over the field for the Wildcats, including wide receiver and safety. He reminds some of a young A.J Green at Wide Receiver. He is also a top-notch basketball player, and hasn’t announced whether he wants to play both sports in college or not. According to B/R: "Roland has started at free safety for his high school team since he was a freshman. The 6'1", 180-lb prospect plays both safety and wide receiver, but his future at the next level appears to be on the defensive side of the ball. He's a great all-around prospect, a ball-hawk a playmaker who could potentially play on both sides of the ball at the next level." He has offers from Clemson, South Carolina, Florida, Florida St., Maryland, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, North Carolina, LSU, and others.
