According to the Washington Post:
Jerami was very high on Maryland and Gary Williams before he decided to retire. His father, Harvey, played 11 seasons in the NBA and his uncle is Horace that played mostly with the Chicago Bulls. Jerami is the younger brother of Clemson's Jerai Grant. Another older brother, Jerian, plays guard at Notre Dame.
"DeMatha Coach Mike Jones says that Mark Turgeon “has a very good relationship from his Kansas days and Big 12 days with the Grant family. They showed interest in Jerami at an early age."
