Clifton Geathers has been a consensus pick as the top player in South Carolina this year. Geathers has received over 60 offers, but he has not tipped his hat towards anyone. Now that coaches can officially contact Geathers is he ready?
"I am still wide open. I want to take my time and look at all of the schools recruiting me. I am not even real sure what games I will be going to this year. There are some games I have in mind, but I would rather not say right now."
Burton Burns is recruiting Geathers for the Tigers, and Geathers was the first phone call he made.
"Coach Burns called me to let me know Clemson is very interested in me. He wants me to come up there for the Miami. I am thinking about coming up. I know they had a great win against Texas A&M. I have been there before and the atmosphere is pretty good, I would like to see what it is like against Miami."
Geathers is being very careful, when he speaks to any media outlet. He is handling the recruiting process his way. No one is going to get any indication from him until he is ready. Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, and Georgia are believed to be the front runners at this time. When will Geathers begin to set up his official visits?
"Most likely it will be after my season. I may take a trip out west, but right now I will take some unofficial visits, then plan my official visits later."
