Clemson is going to take one more linebacker in the class of 2006. The Tigers have targeted Lake Butler’s Kevin Alexander as the top target. Alexander was overshadowed much of the season by his teammate CJ Spiller. Alexander was not bothered by not being the focus.
“CJ is a great player, and he deserves everything. I have always been confident in my ability to play linebacker. I knew if I continued to work hard and go out there and play everyday good things would happen.” Good things have happened for Alexander. He has set up official visits with Louisville (1/6), Clemson (1/13), and Tennessee (1/20). Alexander has already made a trip to Maryland for an official visit (12/16). “My final four is Maryland, Louisville, Clemson, and Tennessee. Those are the four schools I have set up official visits with. I am still kind of looking at South Florida, too. I do want to have the option of staying in-state, and South Florida gives me that. It is not a big deal, but it is an option I want to have.” Is Alexander still favoring the Tigers? “Yes, Clemson is still my number one choice. I feel really comfortable with coaches at Clemson. Coach (Dabo) Swinney is my recruiter. We have a really good relationship with each other. I am looking forward to coming back to Clemson for my official visit.” Could Alexander commit on his official visit? “If I know the school is the right place for me, then yes I could go ahead and commit. Right now, I am saying I will make my decision on Signing Day, but that could always change.”
