Adam Patterson is one of the top five players in South Carolina, and he is very close to the top of Clemson recruiting board. Clemson is in Patterson's top ten along with South Carolina, Maryland, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Georgia, NC State, Auburn, Oklahoma, and Penn State. So who is the new team in the mix?

"Florida has moved up with me. I am considering them now."

Patterson says he is still working on narrowing down to a top five, but it has been difficult for him.

"I am still evaluating those schools trying to figure out who will be my top five. It is really tough, because they are all really good schools."

Patterson made two unofficial visits this summer. He visited Clemson and South Carolina.

"I went to Clemson and South Carolina. It was pretty good, I went up there with my team for a 7 on 7. They were both pretty much the same thing. They were just telling me what their goals were for the season and the future."

Though Patterson has been non-committal on a top five, there are four schools where he is planning on attending games this fall.

"I working on going to some games at Carolina, Clemson, Auburn, and maybe some games at Florida."

For the time being, Patterson is very excited to begin his senior season. There is one team in particular he has set his sights on.

"We have football camp this weekend. Everything starts this Friday. We want to be the first team to beat Byrnes. We have some big goals, and hopefully we will achieve them."

Richland Northeast could only face Byrnes in the playoffs, so Patterson is hoping to derail the defending state champions.
