Watson comments on NCSU coach altercation

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson sophomore quarterback Deshaun Watson was impressive in the 56-41 win against North Carolina State on Saturday.

Watson finished the game passing for 23-30 for 383 yards and five touchdowns, and he also had 14 carries for 54 yards and a score.

However on one extremely bizarre play, North Carolina State's running back coach Des Kitchings had an altercation with Watson during the sidelines in the second half.

Watson said he didn't understand why the North Carolina State coach reacted the way that he did.

"A guy kind of swung at me and pushed me off," Watson said. "I just walked away. I don’t know why he did it."
