Swinney ranked #26th in nation for Coaches' Salaries

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is paid as the #26th highest football coach in the nation according to a database published on Thursday by USA Today.

Swinney is the second-highest paid coach in the ACC with a salary of $3,300,000 with possible bonuses up to 1,125,000 according to the database that gathered public information from schools around the country.

His salary appears to be a bargain in the big business of college football as Clemson is 4-0 this season and has won 13 of their last 14 games dating back to 2014 (Georgia Tech).

Swinney was named the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week for his team's 24-22 win last week against Notre Dame.

Rival South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier is not a bargain this season at $4,000,000 with a total max bonus of $1,700,000.

Jimbo Fisher is the fifth-highest paid coach in the country and highest in the ACC at $5,150,000.

The SEC had 10 of their coaches in the Top 20 overall in salaries.
