Sammy Watkins injury update |
Former Clemson wide receiver
Sammy Watkins flew to Charlotte, North Carolina last week to get a second opinion on his injured foot with Dr. Robert Anderson.
The doctor recommended not to do a second surgery on his surgically-repaired left foot and just rest it and go through rehab according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport. It appears that Watkins' foot is sound structurally, he just needs to rest it until he is 100% healthy. Watkins played in only two games with six catches for 63 yards this season as he is currently on the team's IR list [out at least 8 weeks]. He had 44 receptions for 827 yards and nine touchdowns last season. For his career, he has 125 catches for 2,029 yards and fifteen scores. After seeing Dr. Anderson, the recommendation for #Bills WR Sammy Watkins was no surgery, just rest & rehab. Late-season return is possible
