Back-to-back Heisman finalist
Deshaun Watson had a stellar career in his three years at Clemson including leading the team to their first National Championship since 1981. However, in actuality, his superstar play was getting rave reviews back at Gainesville high school where he holds career passing records in Georgia and won the Class 6A title back in 2012.
The city of Gainesville has renamed a street close to Gainesville high school's football practice field called 'Touchdown Drive' to 'Deshaun Watson Way'. On Sunday, friends and family members of Deshaun Watson were in attendance for the dedication of the sign. "Yeaaa, pull up! Dat Wayy! Thank you city of Gainesville (hometown) for the street," Watson tweeted on Sunday. "Much love and appreciative! #Honored I do it for my city!" Watson was unable to attend the event as he is currently preparing for the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine. In 2016, Watson completed 388 passes out of 579 attempts for 4593 yards and 41 passing touchdowns with 17 interceptions for an adjusted QBR of 84.9. Yeaaa, pull up! Dat Wayy!
