Clemson, S.C. — Bob Mahony, who has worked as an associate director of IPTAY since 1989, has taken on the added responsibility of Executive Director of the Tiger Letterwinners Association.

Mahony will continue to be a key component in the major gift fund-raising division of IPTAY as he takes over Letterwinner responsibilities from Bill D’Andrea, who retired last month.

Mahony is a former Clemson baseball player who served as a co-captain of Clemson’s 1976 team that won the ACC regular season championship, the ACC Tournament and advanced to the College World Series. He has provided color commentary on the Clemson Baseball Radio Network since 1989 and just completed his 25th year working for IPTAY.

“I am excited to take on this responsibility,” said Mahony. “As a Tiger letterman I have a deep appreciation for the organization and its potential. It has made great strides in recent years, but there is another level we will reach. Dan Radakovich and Davis Babb are both on board with providing resources to the organization.”

The Letterwinners Association will now come under IPTAY in the organization chart, and Mahony said he will hire an assistant director this summer, a position the organization has not had previously.

“I am pleased that Bob Mahony will be directing the Tiger Letterwinners Association in the future,” said Babb, who just completed his first year as CEO of IPTAY. “I believe that his history as a Clemson student-athlete, loyal alumnus, development professional, and ambassador make him a perfect fit. Having the Letterwinners Association as part of our ‘One IPTAY’ enterprise will also help all components of our organization improve going forward.”

Mahony will be responsible for the Clemson Hall of Fame and its annual induction ceremony, help coordinate reunions for all sports, and other activities. One of his first responsibilities will be to expand the organization’s data base.

“I see four key areas we will develop including fellowship, recognition, outreach and education. I see the organization helping each other through networking for jobs, community outreach and many other areas.”
