was very impressive in a key matchup against left tackle Ronnie Stanley in Clemson 24-22 win over Notre Dame on Saturday night.

Stanley is currently rated as the #5 overall prospect by NFLDraftScout.com.

Lawson finished with seven tackles and 3.5 tackles chiefly going up against Stanley.

"Fans often associate defensive ends just with sacks but it was the strength and discipline Lawson showed defending the run Saturday night that will have his stock rising with scouts," NFLDraftScout.com stated. "Given that Notre Dame sophomore quarterback DeShone Kizer was starting his first game on the road of his collegiate career, it was obvious that the Irish were going to attempt to establish the run. In part because of how effectively Lawson set the edge, Notre Dame struggled to do so, rushing for just 116 yards on the night after averaging 284 over the first four games of the year."

In 2014, Lawson had 44 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
