From the Tennesseean:

Harper plans to return to Clemson after the season to get his degree. He has only eight hours of electives to go.

“My mom would have been the first person in my family to get a degree from college. So I know it will be a big accomplishment not only for myself, but definitely in her eyes as well,” Harper said. “I know she worked hard to do it, so it would definitely put a smile on her face to see me go back.”

James Harper, Jamie’s father, agreed.

“I always tell him, ‘Make your momma proud. Do something to make your momma proud,’ ” James Harper said. “I know this would make her real, real proud. I can hear her now, ‘Way to go, Jamie J!’ That’s what she used to call him. She would be so proud.”
