Sporting News has released its latest article for the
Top 25 college running backs for 2016 on Monday morning and Clemson running back
Wayne Gallman was ranked #8 overall.
"Gallman gives quarterback Deshaun Watson a reliable running mate in the Tigers’ backfield," Sporting News said. "Gallman finished with 1,527 yards and 13 TDs — that included nine games with 100 yards or more. Gallman averaged 5.4 yards per carry. That should help keep Clemson’s offense running toward another ACC championship." Gallman had 283 rushing attempts for 1527 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season. He also showed his all-around offensive talents with 21 receptions for 213 yards and a score. For his career, he has 444 rushes for 2296 yards and seventeen rushing touchdowns. Clemson is 12-0 in his career when he rushes for at least 100 yards. The Top 10 running backs of 2016 according to Sporting News were Christian McCaffrey, Leonard Fournette, Dalvin Cook, Samaje Perine, Nick Chubb, Royce Freeman, Donnel Pumphrey, Wayne Gallman, Elijah Hood and Justin Jackson.
