Former Top 50 recruit has Clemson in Top 5

by - Assoc. Editor -

Texas A&M freshman forward Elijah Thomas has Clemson in his top five transfer schools according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

His final five schools are Arizona State, Clemson, Gonzaga, Nebraska and San Diego.

He took a visit to Clemson over the weekend and will also visit Nebraska on Dec 29 and Arizona State on Jan 1.

Thomas averaged 9.5 minutes this season, with 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and one block a game.

Thomas only played in 79 minutes since the start of the season due to an injury caused by stepping on a sea urchin.

“I'm disappointed in Elijah's decision to transfer," Texas A&M coach Billy Kennedy said in a school release. "He's struggled with injuries and missed several weeks of practice. Unfortunately, sometimes young people have a hard time working through the process. I wish Elijah the best.”

Thomas was a top 50 recruit by several recruiting services in high school.
