Dodd selected #33 overall in NFL Draft |
Former Clemson defensive end
Kevin Dodd was drafted #33 overall by the Tennesee Titans during the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft on Friday night.
"When I look at him I see a long athlete, not really twitchy, but physical and can set an edge," Mike Mayock said on the NFL Network. "He will be a difference maker over time." After playing just 92 snaps on defense in 2014, Dodd was second in the nation in total tackles for loss with 22.5 in 2015 (behind only Shaq Lawson), including an incredible eight in the two College Football Playoff games, more than any other FBS player in the postseason. In 2015, Dodd had a breakout 2015 season with 62 tackles, 12 sacks and 22.5 tackles for loss. Kevin Dodd: "Wherever they need me to play, I'm ready to work." Blessed ???? https://t.co/TC1z8ittgC Congrats @kdodd98 on being selected by @Titans . Love knowing there will be more Tiger Paws in Tennessee this fall ?? pic.twitter.com/po1oV9AMB5 Kevin Dodd’s ceiling is greater than Shaq Lawson’s. And they’re both very good. Defensive ends Shaq Lawson & Kevin Dodd both go in the top 33 picks of the @NFL draft after finishing 1st & 2nd in the nation in TFL in '15. Congrats, Kevin Dodd! You worked your way into one of the best defensive ends in the nation! Go get it! #ClemsonNFL pic.twitter.com/E3GmIXfaMG Dodd and Lawson are first duo of top 40 picks from Clemson who played HS football in South Carolina since Fuller & Butler in 1979 draft. The 4 Clemson players selected in the 1st 2 rounds is the most by Clemson in the Common Draft era. pic.twitter.com/KszjVdAiHa
