Clemson jumps in latest AP Poll |
Clemson (7-0) rose three spots to a #3 national ranking in the AP Poll and received six first-place votes after the Tiger's historic 58-0 road win over Miami on Saturday afternoon at Sun Life Stadium.
It was the worst loss in the history of the Hurricanes' football program. The six first-place votes by the AP Poll is the most since getting 15 on 9/17/84 according to Clemson's SID Tim Bourret. The Tigers have won 10 consecutive games for the first time since the 1983-84 seasons. Clemson stayed at a #6 national ranking with 1323 points in the latest Coaches Poll earlier published on Sunday. However, the ESPN college football power rankings had the Tigers as the second best team in the nation and only one point behind Ohio State.
