Clemson vs. Notre Dame rematch in CFB Playoff?

Yahoo Sports' senior writer Pat Forde has released his Forde's Fab Four on Sunday and had a College Football playoff projection of Clemson (#1 seed) vs. Notre Dame (#4 seed) in the Orange Bowl.

The contest would be a rematch of the Tigers' 24-22 monsoon victory over the Fighting Irish back on Oct. 3 in Death Valley.

"Meanwhile, quarterback Deshaun Watson added to his Heisman Trophy résumé with 404 yards total offense," Forde said. "Next: at Syracuse Saturday, part of a cushy three-game ride to end the regular season against teams with a combined record of 9-18."

Notre Dame has two manageable games (WF and BC) before a difficult matchup with Stanford to finish the regular season. Remember that the Irish have an advantage by not having to play a championship game with an additional loss eliminating them from playoff discussions.

"One of two new teams in the Fab Four bracket would be a familiar opponent for Clemson," Forde said. "That's Notre Dame (8-1), which continues to roll since its two-point loss to the Tigers in Death Valley on Oct. 3. Since then the Fighting Irish have won four games by a combined 148-105 score against teams with a combined record of 27-8."

Forde has a prediction of Ohio State (#2 seed) vs. Alabama (#3 seed) in the Cotton Bowl which is the other matchup in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
