Former Clemson signal-caller
Charlie Whitehurst
Charlie Whitehurst Whitehurst is excited to get a start after waiting his time as Locker's backup. It will be Whitehurst's fifth career start in the NFL. "I would love to go out there and play. That is what you do it for," Whitehurst told the Tennessean. "There's 53 guys out here and only so many starters, but that's what you play the game for, to go out there and play. A long time ago, I did it a lot." For his career, Whitehurst has completed 84 of 155 passes for 805 yards and three touchdowns. Whitehurst has made an estimated $85,000 per NFL pass attempt during his NFL career. He was drafted by the Chargers in the third round (81st overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. Tennessee will start QB Charlie Whitehurst in place of the injured Jake Locker today at Indianapolis.
