Boulware let Cam Newton have it after crucial interception |
Senior Clemson linebacker Ben Boulware is used to making huge plays for the Clemson defense late in games, and he continued that trend as he picked off Auburn quarterback Sean White at the 1-yard line with 6:15 left in the fourth quarter on Saturday night.
After the superb play, Boulware's affectatious exuberance had him sprinting towards the Auburn sidelines to Cam Newton and his rather large entourage as Boulware pointed his finger in celebration at the NFL MVP and former Auburn quarterback. “I was just being dumb,” Boulware told ESPN. “I saw him, so I pointed at him and smiled. It was all in good fun. He was smiling.” Boulware finished the game with six tackles, the aforementioned interception, and a story to tell his grandkids.
