Brooks says LSU game a confidence builder for young DTs

by - Senior Writer -

DT coach Dan Brooks said the win over LSU was a confidence booster for his young defensive tackles.

"Hopefully, that game will be a bridge for us," Brooks told TigerNet. "We knew they could do it, and we had been waiting on it. Now, they know they can do it and we have the film to prove it."

Brooks also said he was pleased with how his unit progressed last season, especially against the inside run.

"You look at the Florida St. game, and we came away knowing we didn't play well and should have won that game," he said. "I can't tell you which game it was, but there was a point where it all came together for us. Even Georgia Tech surprised us, because they really didn't even try to run it inside, they bounced it outside. I am proud of those guys."
