Swinney: "We might have been America’s team for 24 hours" |
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney has had a busy offseason with recruiting, different award shows, and various media obligations that comes with winning the 2016 National Championship.
Swinney was recently on the Bernie Miklasz show and discussed how his life has changed since winning the National Championship. "In the past, if we would get 15 calls here, now there’s 50," Swinney said. "If we would get a stack of mail, now it’s three times that size. There’s a lot that comes with it, but that’s all part of it and we’re all managing through all that." Swinney thinks that most of the nation had Alabama fatigue and was pulling hard for Clemson to win the title. "The other thing is…I think we might have been America’s team for 24 hours or something like that, but it seems like everywhere I go people are still talking about the game and they’re not necessarily Clemson fans," Swinney said. "People have just been coming up to me and saying how excited they were that we won the game and they were really pulling for us. So that’s been kind of neat. That a lot of people were genuinely happy to see us win the game."
