Tom Brady forecasts 'great future' for Watson

by - Staff Writer -

The reigning championship quarterbacks of NFL and FBS levels in Deshaun Watson and Tom Brady met in a joint practice Wednesday between Watson's Houston Texans and Brady's New England Patriots.

"It's always good to be able to learn from a guy like Tom Brady," Watson told reporters afterward, "one of the best to ever do it. Seeing him in a live practice and see how he works. What we talked about is we congratulated each other on all the success that we had. He gave me a little tip here and there about this league and this season and coach (Bill O'Brien).

"It's cool. It's a blessing to be in his presence and have that opportunity to learn from one of the best."

Brady, a five-time Super Bowl champion, is a big fan of the former Tiger QB after watching a number of Clemson games in recent seasons.

"Watching him play, he has a great future," Brady said. "He has all the ability. It was great to meet him. He's had so many great games. Pro football players watch a lot of college players because Saturday nights we're at the hotel (before games).

"Clemson was on a lot and obviously they won a lot of games. It was great to meet him."
