WATCH: Clemson lineman impressively benches 225 lbs 50 times |
The Clemson Football team is still training for the start of fall practice on Friday.
Clemson Football's Twitter account posted a short clip of Gabe Cervenka benching 225 pounds fifty times. Around his fortieth lift, he paused for a moment and (surprising to me) winked at the camera. Cervenka was acting like he was benching Nerf weight not the 225 pounds during the entire video. He is one of the several Clemson offensive players that could have a breakout 2018 season. In 2017, he had knockdown in 101 snaps in 10 games. Regardless of the impressiveness of all that weight, I expect the community of 'pro weightlifters' will eventually show up and will knock him for bouncing the weight on his chest some and not fully locking his arms. However, it was certainly an impressive display of strengh by the veteran lineman. Since 1998, only eighteen players at the NFL combine have had more than 40 reps at 225 pounds. 3??0?? days. It’s time again for some football! We’ll see y’all in Cali! #CUinjanuary pic.twitter.com/XP2g0uLA9r
