Robinson Poses A Threat

by - Correspondent -

On Saturday, Clemson will get a much needed break in the schedule. A win on Saturday will not do much to impress people around the country, but this team desperately needs to win no matter the opponent. Coach Bowden has tried to point out that he could have scheduled a 4-1 start instead of a 1-4 start, but that is all meaningless now. Utah State has one big threat that could hurt the Tigers on Saturday.

Kevin Robinson is averaging 36.3 yards per punt return right now. That is an incredible figure no matter what school you play for. The gameplan should simply be to not kick to him. You try not to kick to a guy, who is averaging on returns close to what you are per kick. That is not the trade off you want in field position. Robinson will also use his open field running ability as a wide receiver also. The defensive front should be able to get pressure to neutralize that aspect.

It would have been nice to have this game earlier in the year, but we will see how the Tigers respond to being back at home. The talent is still there, we will have to wait and see how the confidence is built after this weekend.
