In what could turn out to be a preview of the ACC Championship game, Clemson and Miami open their respective ACC schedules this Saturday in Death Valley. Everyone knows the recent history. It's too hard not to mention the fact that the past three meetings have been thrilling overtime games, with the road team taking the victory. Both of these teams have already had a chance to make a statement nationally, only to fall short on the road. Miami brings tradition, legacy, a brash nature, and attitude to this game. In the old days, I would have feared Miami punching Clemson in the mouth and watching the Tigers cower down to the Hurricanes. But this team seems different. Maybe the attitude we saw in Auburn was a farce, but I think it's far from it. Dabo Swinney seems to carry that "it" factor with him and it's transfered to this ball club. You could see his passion for the team on display in Auburn and they want to win for their head coach. They believe, so why shouldn't we? I can't give you a single reason not to. Forget the past. Forget the previous letdowns. Things appear to be changing in Clemson rapidly. Death Valley appears to be its old self again. I think the fans will prove that again on Saturday as well. This weekend it will be the eye of the Hurricane against the eye of the Tiger. Look in Clemson's eyes at the top of the Hill, just after the rub Howard's Rock. The eyes will tell it all.
